Apple typically releases new versions of its iPhone devices in the fall of each year - giving us something new (the must have mobile device!) to cozy up to for the holiday season!
"In the last decade, Apple has only announced its new flagship smartphones outside of September once: October 2020, amid a once-in-a-generation pandemic that necessitated stay-at-home orders and disrupted tech supply chains. As such, it is highly likely that the iPhone 15 will arrive in September 2023." - Tom's Guide
The exact iPhone release date for any given model can vary, and is generally not announced by Apple until just before the product is released. We wouldn't expect our first hint to come directly from Apple either, but more than likely in the form of an insider news leak (commonly from Jon Prosser, Mark Gurman, LOvetodream, and / or Ming-Chi Kuo).
iPhone 15 Rumors And Speculation
There is speculation that the iPhone 15 will cost more when it's finally released in 2023. Due to the nature of today's economy and the rampant inflation being experienced throughout the US and worldwide (due to supply chain issues, manufacturing delays, etc., resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic), this logically makes sense.
However, one thing to keep in mind is that we're getting to that point in the development cycle where hardware advances on these newer cell phones and top mobile devices are becoming more incremental while the choices available to us, the end consumer (shopping some of the more well known brands from Samsung, Google, Apple, Motorola, LG, Huawei, oppo), are increasingly growing.
With the increase in buying options (basic laws of supply and demand economics), there's good reason to believe the mobile device space will become more competitive in the coming years, all of which bodes well for more people getting access to better hardware at better prices!
In some aspects, we're already seeing this reality unfold with the increased product lines being released from many tech companies! Since we're talking about the iPhone 15 release date and rumors, Apple is a perfect example of a company that has expanded its iPhone device product line to cover a full spectrum of users - from the entry level iPhone SE third edition (with older models and editions still available for purchase) to the iPhone 14 Pro Max for the business owner or day to day power user who wants the power of a computer in their pocket. By taking this approach. Apple opens the door to more users which means more potential buyers of their iPhones whereas before they positioned themselves more doggedly as the "high-end" product for the "high-end" user.
As their product cycle has evolved, Apple is now striking that balance between providing a high-end product, but making a phone more affordable to everyone as they work to minimize cost as being a barrier to drawing a new consumer into their ecosystem. To maintain this approach, nearly all of their phones can make use of their latest software (currently IOS 16), but they do limit some features, only available on their flagship models, to create that exclusive "pro" or "ultra" user experience for those willing to go all in to pay for their top of the line device!
Apple has done this with their Watch (offering the Apple Watch Ultra, Series 8, and SE) and iPad devices as well (Apple iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad Mini, and base iPad model). Look for this trend to continue throughout 2023.
iPhone 15 Release Date (Stay Tuned)!
Unfortunately, it is too early to make any predictions about the exact features or release date of the future iPhone 15, as Apple has not yet made any official announcements for this new device. While there may be rumors and speculation about the iPhone 15 circulating online, it is important to remember that these are unconfirmed and may not be accurate. Until official information about the iPhone 15 is released by Apple, we won't know for sure what the device will offer or when it will be available.
Rumor has it that there will be an iPhone Ultra and the notch will continue to morph into a pill ..... again, just rumors to this point. Stay tuned as we learn more!
